I got swindled! My PMU has vanished!

Why is it gone?
You think you wasted your money for nothing?
⠀
Let’s figure it out. Today I want to discuss the reasons of poor retention.
⠀
▪️First situation “perfect result”
It’s rare, but sometimes it happens that a clients comes back with 90%+ retention, they’re happy with the shape, color, saturation and barely anything needs to be done at the touchup session. Usually those clients have nearly perfect skin (normal/dry, no fibrosis, no acne, etc).
In this case we just add a light layer for longevity and see you again in 1-3 years for a refresh.
⠀⠀
▪️Second situation “common”
Most clients fall into this category- pigment loss ~30-40%, might have some spots that have taken less pigment.
In this case we work on those spots, then add a layer or two creating the perfect result.
▪️Cold sore after Lip blushing
If you carry the gene, cold sores are common with Lipblushing. They can slow down the healing process and alter the results, causing pigment loss in certain areas.
If you’ve EVER had a cold sore, It’s important to start taking an antiviral medication a day prior the procedure.
Touchup is mandatory to perfect the results.
⠀
▪️ Violation of post-procedural care instructions by the clients themselves.
Accidental or intentional scratching, picking, prolonged contact with steam or water might cause poor results.
⠀
Often, clients begin to sound the alarm immediately after the peeling stage is over, but that’s different. It’s called ghosting or translucent phase in permanent makeup and it’s not until 3-4 weeks when we can actually see the final result. You need to be patient.
Healing of Powder brows by day:
⠀⠀
▪️Day 1
The day of the procedure. Powder brows look absolutely gorgeous, usually there are no swelling and redness (however it can be present if you have sensitive skin or didn’t follow pre-care instructions. Usually disappears within a few hours). All thanks to the gentle application of the pigment into the skin. ⠀⠀
▪️Day 2-3
The area of permanent makeup has darkened, there is no feeling of dryness yet. Even up close, the eyebrows look beautiful, so you can safely go to work and not hide the “new eyebrows” behind the bangs). Eyebrow color in the first days after the procedure is quite intense. But this is temporary, besides, a great opportunity to try on bolder makeup). Please note that immediately after the procedure, the eyebrows seem bigger and sharper than they will be after healing – patience! ⠀⠀
▪️Day 4-14
90% of my clients experience just mild dryness, dandruff looking specks on their eyebrows, that are barely visible.
It lasts somewhere between 3-10 days.
Heavy scabs, patchiness are caused by an artist’s traumatic technique, if a client has very sensitive, oily, problematic skin or lack of the proper aftercare.
▪️ Day 14+
Eyebrows look natural, but for some they are too light or it seems that nothing is left at all (remember that “ghosting phase”?). After a couple weeks, the color of the pigment stabilizes and we can evaluate the results and what we’re going to do at the touchup session.
